Arrive at Guwahati Airport/railway station and proceed to Shillong. En route, visit the Umiam Lake. Once you reach Shillong, check in at the hotel and enjoy a relaxing overnight stay.
On this day, eat a healthy breakfast, and visit the Mary Help of Christians Cathedral, Ward's Lake, Don Bosco Museum and Bara Bazar. Head to the Archery Field to witness the great traditional archery game of Meghalaya. Spend the evening at leisure or explore the local market. Stay overnight in Shillong.
The Dawki River
The Dawki River, also known as the Umngot River or Wah Umngot, is a river in the small town of Dawki in the West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya, India. The river is known for its crystal-clear water, which is so clear that boats floating on it appear to be on a glass surface. Some say the Dawki River is one of the cleanest rivers in the world, and others call it a hidden gem. The river is a major tourist destination in Meghalaya, and the town of Dawki is also known for its suspension bridge.
After breakfast, visit Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak. Later, drive to Cherrapunji to witness the beauty of Nohkalikai Falls, the tallest plunge waterfall in India.
Also, visit Mawsmai Cave, Dainthlen Falls and Krem Suri Falls. You can spend the evening at leisure. Retire for the day and enjoy your night stay in Cherrapunji.
After an early breakfast, proceed to Guwahati. Check in at the hotel in Guwahati and freshen up. Visit Kamakhya Temple for Maa darshan. After some local sightseeing, take a boat ride on the mighty Brahmaputra River in the evening. The boat ride will be dependent on the water levels of the river and the availability of the cruise.
After breakfast, transfer to airport or railway station for onward journey.
